⭐️ Life After Lab Six - November Edition ⭐️
Now you can read all about what your fellow alumni are getting up to and what’s been happening at Lab Six.
This is a new space where we can show off some of the wicked things our Alumni get up to now that they have the skills to make their dreams come true, along with what is happening at Lab Six HQ.
Lab Six Alumni take on Festival X stage!
Over the weekend Festival X took place at Claremont Showgrounds and featured a stacked lineup of international and local talent. We were so proud to see so many of our Alumni getting to play the same stage as some of their idols and feature on the same lineup as artists such as Calvin Harris, Boys Noize, Nina Kraviz & more. Congrats on the huge gig team! :')
DAWS pops by for studio sesh
Off the back of her international travels, it was a pleasure to have production alumni @daws.dj in the studio last week.
DAWS aka Nat, came through Lab back in 2016 to learn music production and since then has been killin’ it over east and all around the globe. If you're in town and want to come use the studios, drop us a line!
COMMUNITY NEWS
Our first large scale in-person community event!
We held our first large scale, in-person community event downstairs at Lab Six on the 24th November.
Two guest speakers comprising of super duo Clive Hodson and Jordan Frost-Hodson joined us for a discussion on Music Publishing 101, Trends in Dance/Electronic Music and Single Release Strategy in a TikTok lead world.
The first half of the night consisted of Clive talking through Music Publishing 101, touching on subjects such as APRA, copyright and what artists should be doing when publishing their music. Whilst the second half a discussion between Jordan and Jeremy. Jordan chatted about how his drive and determination to get into the music industry lead him to where he is today, and Jeremy got to ask him questions about the dance/electronic music scene.
Overall it was a huge success! We didn’t get out of the Lab untill around 10pm as we were having such a great time networking, chatting with our fellow alumni and asking the speakers additional questions.
We look forward to putting on more workshops and talks like this in 2023, and can’t wait to get more involved with our growing community.
